Barbara is a business and transactional lawyer, representing and counseling clients in all facets of their business. Her practice includes acquisitions and divestitures, securities law (for both public and private companies), entity formation and structuring, financings, commercial contracts, licensing, and general business counseling.

She represents a diverse group of clients, ranging from sophisticated start-ups to seasoned companies, including a privately held, leading software developer, a NASDAQ geophysical-equipment manufacturer, an international NYSE chemical company, a healthcare information management company and various service companies.

Representative matters that she has handled recently include the acquisition of a manufacturer of specialty woundcare materials, ongoing SEC '33 and '34 Act securities law matters, various software license agreements with redistributors such as BlackBerry (RIM), Apple and Nokia, and recapitalization of a privately held technology company. She has also served as outside "in-house" counsel for certain client businesses, either on a interim or continuing basis, including a multi-year stint advising the U.S. and European operations of an electronic materials manufacturer.

Prior to joining Levett Rockwood, Barbara was in house Corporate Counsel with The Daseke Group, Inc. In addition to advising Daseke on corporate matters, she represented the company in various financing transactions and private placements. Previously, she practiced securities law ('33 Act filings, '34 Act compliance and private securities offerings), and corporate law (M&A, financings and capital formation) at Cummings & Lockwood.

Barbara received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1980, and graduated (cum laude) from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1976.

Barbara resides in Southport, Connecticut where she is active with several community associations, including as a past trustee of the Pequot Library Association and as trustee and former President of the Sasquanaug Association for Southport Improvement, Inc.
