203-222-0885 dlevett@levettrockwood.com David founded Levett Rockwood in 1981, and guided the firm through twenty years of growth. He has extensive experience in the fields of health law and business law, as well as litigation. He is currently of counsel to the firm. David's practice in recent years includes broad experience in the area of health law, representing hospitals, managed care companies, physicians and other health care providers in a full range of regulatory, litigation, contract and corporate matters. His experience includes structuring and financing of major capital projects for hospitals, working with federal and state regulatory authorities, and negotiating sophisticated mergers, acquisitions and other complex transactions. A well-known figure before Connecticut's health care regulatory agencies, David has obtained Certificates of Need and other approvals for numerous important projects for many providers. Prior to founding Levett Rockwood, David was a partner at Cummings & Lockwood in Stamford. He received a B.A. in 1959 and an L.L.B. in 1962 from Yale University, where he authored "Treatment of Monetary Fringe Benefits and Post-Termination Survival of the Right to Job Security" for the Yale Law Journal. He served for 4 years as a captain in the U.S. Army J.A.G.C. David has served as a director for leading Connecticut-based corporations and health care providers, including Marketing Corporation of America and the Hall-Brooke Foundation.
