Rob counsels and represents business clients. He has broad experience in domestic and foreign business organization, acquisitions and divestitures, commercial transactions, and in the areas of executive compensation and benefits and corporate governance.

Prior to joining Levett Rockwood, Rob served for almost 20 years as in-house general counsel for the North American interests of several large multinationals. Most recently he served as general counsel of Caradon Inc., the subsidiary of a U.K. public company with North American sales of approximately $1 billion in varied manufacturing businesses. His in-house service also included senior legal positions with Timex Corporation and CarnaudMetalbox S.A., a French multinational packaging company.

Rob directed all legal aspects of a $1.2 billion acquisition of 50 businesses in the U.S., Europe and Canada. He represented the acquirer in seven transactions that created the low-cost producer in the U.S. check-printing industry with $350 million in sales. He assisted in the formation and governance of several joint ventures between large multinational partners. He regularly counsels senior executives and boards on corporate governance, fiduciary duty and emerging company issues.

Rob’s background also includes five years as an associate with Chadbourne & Parke in New York City.

After graduating from Amherst College (cum laude, with honors) in 1967 and Columbia University School of Law in 1970, Rob was admitted to the New York and Connecticut bars.
